Absolutely love it. I enjoy checking things at a glance and it is easy to navigate which is perfect when I don't have a lot of time to check on things.
Pros
The dashboard is my favorite part due to the ease of seeing my account and important information at a quick glance. Also how it shows the current stock price at the top of the page allows me to know what is going on with our shares.
Cons
Don't have any negative feedback on the software. It is exactly what I need and is displayed how I like to see things.

Very easy to navigate, not easy to obtain tax rates

Pretty darn good.
Pretty darn good.
Pros
I really enjoy the platform layout and the ability to choose the country and stock plan you want to view the rules for. It's also great to have the employee tax guides per country and award. The rules themselves are pretty easy to understand. Our client service managers are great and very helpful. I love the email updates of country taxation.
Cons
I wish the tax rates were easier to find and more broken out into appropriate tax tiers for certain countries. Also, while it's generally easy to understand the advice in the tax guides, some of the language isn't 100% clear.

Legacy software that fails to deliver

Would avoid if possible. There are better, easier platforms to use.
Would avoid if possible. There are better, easier platforms to use.
Pros
It shows expected value of shares. It shows information on shares.
Cons
Poor user experience, hard to navigate and use. Constantly trying to get me to open an etrade account.
No notifications when tax documentation is ready. Really a pain across multiple fronts. Carta was much easier and better to use for shareholders.

Pros
Shareworks helps me access my portfolio with a user friendly interface. I would suggest this product to any company that want's to offer stocks to their employees.
Cons
I wish there was an easier way to transact selling off shares. As well as a more friendly color scheme.

Shareworks does the job but gets you there in the most painful way. The way I can describe it is that it feels like a software company that is run by a bank. Very few improvements, confusing interface, customer support that does not care, nickel/dime you on fees. When I elevate the issues to an implementation manager, it is amazing how little they care about the issue, fixing the issue and making things right.
Pros
Shareworks calculates my stock compensation expense and is my system of record for cap table.
Cons
Shareworks is completely non-intuitive. In order to go from adding a participant to adding a grant to adding valuations, I totaled that it is over 25 steps. There is no "wizard" to help with adding. To make things more confusing, they also have "legacy" and "2.0" with no explanation. The number of clicks is mind boggling. The implementation team got our equity information wrong multiple times during implementation, resulting in significant delays to implementation, even though I had paid for the software. Additionally, they transfer you off of implementation before you even have your participants live or have your financial reporting complete. The software was built for employee equity management, and it is clear that they retrofitted it for cap table management (for example, everyone is referred to as an "employee"). There is no easy communication for investors. All reporting is static. Cap table reports are awful. I can't run a cap table with my ownership plus vested shares unless I merge 2 reports together.

CartaReasons for Choosing Shareworks
I switched from Certent due to Certent's very poor interface and capabilities. Shareworks is 4x the cost and is not much of an improvement.Switched From
