Pros

We can download donor information. It allows us to craft a thank you letter/receipt that goes out immediately to the donor. We can create giving campaigns and also seamlessly participate in our state online day of giving

Cons

I have othing to report here. Haven't run into any glitches or drawbacks in our experience with GiveGab. We're very happy with the software, customer support and overall functionality of the software.

Pros

We went with GiveGab due to their level of support during your giving campaign creation. We are a small staff and really benefit from their level of assistance!

Cons

Really none, when there is an issue, they are on it immediately and pursue solutions until it is corrected.

Extremely frustrating

Pros

Someone was available to answer questions. This is typical of GiveGab. All I have to say is in that first sentence, so why demand more?

Cons

GiveGab was responsive to my numerous questions, but that is the only good thing I have to say about it. GiveGab has a long way to go to provide a clear interface that operates accurately, that is organized in a user-friendly manner, that provides adequate directions to the user, and serves the needs of its clients. I wasted an enormous amount of time trying to create the giving page and the Administrative Dashboard and it still wasn't satisfactory in appearance or in the information it provided or in the way it functioned.

One example: Two portions of it were recorded on "offline donations." When I asked why the rest was not credited, the support staff told me that the match ended before Valley Gives Day began because I had indicated that the match ended on May 1. Well, yes, but normally "ends May 1" means at midnight on that date! (see the nonsense below). She added the rest of the match manually. I expected that the match would be deducted from my credit card or I would be alerted to the fact that it had been met and I should make the contribution, but that never happened. In the end I had to send a check. This whole episode was a total waste of my time, not to mention the support staff

We're incredibly sorry that this aspect of your Giving Day was unclear.

The Match functionality on GiveGab updates in real time as your receive online donations. The Match depletes and your totals increase proportionately to the online donations received.

We realize this can be confusing and wish we were able to provide you with the right information before the day.

Thank you for your feedback around sending alerts when a Match occurs and for the ability to charge a credit card. This is a great suggestion and one we'll take into consideration for the future.

Easy to use and well supported

Pros

GiveGab was incredibly sleek and easy to use, both on the front and back end. Their customer support was unmatched - I've never dealt with so many friendly people.

Cons

We couldn't easily integrate GiveGab into our Blackbaud products, but we knew that going in. It also had some redundancy for single-fund giving days like ours.

I like that I have more access and control to make changes to our site.

Cons

I wish it was more customizable, there are changes or ways I would like our page to look and we can't do it. It makes a lot of the pages look similar.

Dependable software and customer support

Pros

It’s dependable, software does what it was promised to do, in the two years we have worked with GiveGab our Giving Day events have gone smoothly. Whenever we had questions or hit a snag their support staff were responsive and effective.

Cons

Ability to customize quickly. New features are not easily added.

GiveGab's software was very easy to use. I had no problem training other people in my office on how to upload photos, input descriptions, and add fund IDs.

Cons

There was no ability to change the text to grey/black ourselves, we had to ask our project manager. However, he made all our profile text the same grey color without a problem.

Overall, our experience has been positive with GiveGab once we have our profile set up for the Extraordinary Give event. It is easy to track donations and donors, but there is a lot of information on the site that we do not use due to our organization's size. Given their quick resolution of the issues incurred during the 2019 event, we hope that we will use GiveGab again in 2020.

Pros

Our organization used GiveGab for the Extraordinary Give, a one-day giving day in Lancaster County, PA. This year, the GiveGab platform offered the chance to copy over the past year's information under the Manage Organization tab. This option helped with completing our organization's profile for this event. It is relatively easy to update information on the site, but sometimes finding where that information is can be tricky. When I did have a question about our profile, the customer service team member did respond quickly.

Cons

The GiveGab platform had issues last year due to volume of traffic during the Extraordinary Give. They worked with the event organizers and helped resolve issues, but those issues happened during peak traffic hours.
Also, even though we were able to copy the previous year's profile information, while I thought it had been copied, I realized a week before the event that it had not. The site was a bit confusing to find exactly where you needed to go for information. However, their customer service did respond fairly quickly so that I was able to resolve the issue and copy our information.
We found that there are a lot of options that our organization does not use, especially pertaining to giving supporters and surveys, but larger organizations may find those options helpful.

We had concerns when GiveGab took over Kimbia. The personal touch of having a local rep is gone but the level of customer service is much higher with GiveGab than with Kimbia.

Pros

I feel pretty comfortable using the software and have found it to be rather intuitive. I like the customization of reports and forms. The live chat for Support is super convenient and always very helpful.

Cons

It's great for event registration and donations but the fundraising piece has never fit with our model. I have yet to find a way to make the peer to peer function work for what we need and how our event operates. Past sales people have tried to force us to change our model to fit the software but I'd rather the software be more adaptable to our work.

GiveGab has really helped us meet the needs of our various special projects. It's flexible enough to make reporting and integrating with other systems really easy. The fees they have negotiated with Stripe are very low which we and our donors love!

Pros

The platform is the most flexible of any fundraising software I've seen. It enables us to do almost everything we can think of - and we have some crazy use cases! In addition, the customer service is absolutely unparalleled. They are quick to respond and go above and beyond to meet our needs, optimize our use an solve any issues that arise.

Cons

The enterprise platform is not super intuitive. Some of the labels are confusing and there is a bit of a learning curve. In addition, the nature of the platform prevents having more than one window/form/report open at once and navigating back and forth can be cumbersome.

Pros

For donations, the platform makes the process drop-dead simple for us to set up and manage. Simple donations are much easier, smoother, and prettier on GG. The ability to create fundraising campaigns has been game-changing for us. They're easy to do, look great, and people feel comfortable and secure when they contribute to them on the platform. We only just took the plunge with the CRM functionality, and we're already wondering why we didn't do it sooner. We also love the responsiveness of the support team fast, friendly, patient, knowledgeable, flexible, and creative in their responses every time.

Cons

There are some aspects of the CRM workflow that I wish were set up a little differently, however, I have given feedback on these specific pieces, and the support folks have put in requests to the tech team to look into adding or modifying that functionality based on my feedback. I appreciate that.

Give Gab has the best customer service of any software company I have dealth with recently. If something we ask about is not available at the time, they do their best to find a work around for us and also add it to their list of upgrades to make.

I would like a little more flexibility in the overall look and font on the site.

Pros

It was easy to implement for our Giving Tuesday campaign. We give the link to our campaign to the public and they go to the link and donate. It has easy to use tools that sets you up with everything you need which takes out the guessing of what I may need.

Cons

The fees for the platform is quite expensive. When running campaigns I almost don't want our normal donors using it because I know there is quite a lot being lost. I like using it for new campaigns to reach people who are new to learning about us.

Pros

The ease for our participating organizations to be involed in a Giving Day because of the GiveGab platform is amazing. Even organizations with minimal technical skills are able to navigate through the software to register their organization and run an effective and engaging Giving Day. The benefit to donors is also high with software that provides a seemless donation process. The Shopping Cart feature encourages multiple donations. The Blue Chat bubble customer service is outstanding for donors and participating nonprofits.

Cons

There really has not been an issue that GiveGab has not been able to resolve. Their tech team of developers not only responds to requests, but is ahead of the curve in rolling out new product features on a regular basis.

Great product and easy to use

Pros

The pages are easy to implement and use, when making a donation the donor is still on our website, integrates easily with a variety of credit card processors, and adapts to new trends quickly (i.e. adding the 3% option to donations, pledge payments, and ongoing/recurring donations)

GiveGab provided A+ customer service from beginning to end. They always tried to understand what we wanted and why. They were responsive, quick and tried to anticipate challenges in advance.

Pros

Overall, the software was easy to use and engage with. GiveGab did an outstanding job with the marketing by offering so many webinar that walked the user through various features like the Peer-to-Peer and Match. The Nonprofit profiles were clean and simple yet the ability to jam pack them with information was easily availlable as folks were able to upload pictures, video and text.

Cons

The process to manage the matching feature was a bit hard as nonprofits were using it differently (1:1 match, 1:2 match, limits set, matches to award even if all of the money wasn't raised). There was confusion as to who and when to do it manually and when to add the money depending on the details of that particular organizations match.

Best software out there for group online giving

Pros

We are using GiveGab in our city for a large day of giving. The staff has been helpful and it really is easy to set up each non profit page and interact with the site. The layout is simple and easy for donors to find who it is they would like to donate too. Payment processing is easy.

Cons

Pros

GiveGab is a solid tool for non-profits new to online fundraising platforms. Its best features are in online fundraising, supporter engagement, and volunteer management.

Cons

Event fundraising is very rudimentary and needs more features to be effective; restricted layout options on how to design fundraising pages; does not support adding third party apps or software to complement the site; does not offer APIs, widgets, or plugins to web content management systems such as WordPress.

We're working on adding third party apps to compliment the site. We already currently have a MailChimp integration and Salesforce Sync and Raiser's Edge on our Enterprise plan. We also have a widget for donation forms that works on sites like WordPress.

Give Gab is a great resource for nonprofit fundraising!

Pros

Our nonprofit education center uses Give Gab once a year as part of a local giving campaign. Even though I do not regularly interact with their software, I find it easy to use and navigate. They save my information from year to year, which makes it quick and easy to update our profile for the current year's giving campaign. Their training webinars offer useful information and are not too long! I like how much we can customize on our giving profile, and that we can show donor names and the progress toward our goal live throughout the 24-hour giving campaign. Afterward, Give Gab allows me to export all of the donor data as an excel spreadsheet, which makes it easy to write thank-you notes and collect data so we can compare the success of the event from year to year. Great software!

Cons

I cannot think of any negative aspects of Give Gab: it works well for our annual giving campaign!

Cumbersome. It's nice being able to add content but it's almost too much content.

Pros

That we can customize it to show off our organization. That it went directly into our bank account and there were no paper checks.

Cons

It's a lot of content to develop for the site. The fees were high. No instant email reports when a donation was made-- all end of the day reporting. It makes things overly complicated

I'm glad to hear you had a pleasant experience customizing your profile and receiving your donations quickly and easily! We believe your donations are yours - and you shouldn't have to wait for them.

I also understand how the profile can be a lot of content to develop. We built our profile editor with best practices in mind, and when you have 4 or more content spots out on your profile, you're likely to raise even more! While you don't have to add each piece of content, it's best practice to have a complete profile.

We chose not to have an email go out for each donation made as you would (hopefully) be overwhelmed with email during the giving day! You can still log in and access your donations and donor contact information in real-time.

Able to participate in our citywide fundraising efforts while gaining supporters from around the US. We were able to reach out to more people about our organization.

Pros

I like that there are options of customization and an opportunity to thank our donors and supports.

Cons

My least favorite part about the software is the peer-to-peer functionality. For me it wasn't very user friendly and it was difficult for our supporters to use. Their supporters donated to the main page or even on Facebook.
