We are using AnyLogic to model our cross docks and yard operations. I love using this software for this purpose. The support for modeling "pedestrian" like congestion/etc on our docks and yards is amazing. I know of no other simulation modeling environment that does this.
Pros
AnyLogic is an incredibly flexible platform for creating very sophisticated simulation models. I love it's integration with the Java programming language. Also, I like how they separate the visualization from the logic of the modeling.
Cons
To do all that AnyLogic does, it is an extremely complicated modeling tool. It takes a while to learn.

Pros
One of he features of AnyLogic is its versatility. allowing me to tackle and try a wide range of complex problems with a single tool. This flexibility empowers to explore various modelling approaches and combine them as needed to accurately represent real-world systems. And the help that I got throughout the whole process from the AnyLogic team.
Cons
One downside I found with AnyLogic is its initial learning curve. Since it's a powerful simulation tool , mastering its intricacies can take some time and dedication.

Using AnyLogic science version 5.5. Providing classes for students, and also using in research projects.
Pros
- flexibility (use of Java), provides a great opportunity to develop very complex models
- huge amount of features to conduct different types of experiments
- huge amount of samples + detailed tutorials
- ability to mix in one model different simulation approaches
Cons
- very slow, probably because of the user interface
- not very user-friendly in terms of writing the code, autocompletion etc
- 2D/3D object library could be more wider, also would be great to have a tool to create own 3D objects

In general, I am satisfied, as anylogic meets all my needs and I have not yet had to use additional software. This is the main thing for me.
I would also be happy if the lessons and training material were more interactive. A good example here is the Matlab tutorials on their official website. They are broken down by topic and first you are given the theory, and then you are given tasks to reinforce it
Pros
Simple interface, wide capabilities, and functionality.
Cons
Sometimes it's not entirely clear what exactly went wrong, and then you have to go back a few steps to figure it out. Hints don't always help. It also takes a lot of time to learn. I'm not very good at programming and sometimes it's hard to understand java.

My overall experience with AnyLogic is quite very good, I continue learning and I have built some very good models with the software.
Pros
Flexibility to combine more than one modelling method in one model, low code modelling, and ability to use Java for advanced modelling.

Using Experience of Agent-based Modelling for Fire Evacuation

I am happy with the modelling experience with AnyLogic, as it is friendly and easy for beginners to start playing with their own models. However, some of the specific setting related problems are not included in the manual or websites, which are not easy to fix.
Pros
I can directly download the online case of fire evacaution model and make some personal modifications. It really helps me to learn some basic functions, which are necessary for the beginners to start with. Besides, as the case supplies a feasible application which is close to my own case application with multiple scenarios, I can extract some of the key functions and apply to my own model without learning from the beginning. This is very helpful to save time for the beginners and I can quickly have a play with my own model but with some personalized settings.
Cons
The differenct version are not compatible. For example, if I build a model based on version 8.3, I cannot replicate on version 8.7, which really causes difficulties and time to modify the model from the old version to be feasible in the new version.
Besides, some of the errors cannot be easily fixed as there are not enough supports for self-learning version. Though it does have some forums, but some problems are too specific to have exact answers. I would like to have some more in-face conversation for problem-fixing.

Can’t complain. Very glad I have exposure to it.
Pros
Within my research we will be making use of Agent-based modelling and System Dynamics. The fact that we can do both within AnyLogic is a massive bonus. I also like the fact that there are som many resources available to learn and develop my modelling skills on the online platform.
Cons
The graphics of the application can be a bit more visually pleasing. This is such a small thing to comment about, but yes, I think there is some room for improvement when it comes to the look of AnyLogic.

It was hard getting into it but definitely worth it. I would recommend trying to master one type of simulation at a time, whatever your personal needs are. The hardest part is honestly the very beginning. But once you're feeling confident in your knowledge of anylogic, connecting the different types of simulations is a seamless process.
Pros
Once the initial learning curve is surpassed, the resulting simulations are great quality products. You are able to inter connect different types of simulation into one big symbiotic project. In my personal experience, said connection has been between discrete, dynamic and agent based simulation. I am very satisfied with the results I've been able to reach.
Cons
The learning curve learning the functionality of all items available in the pallet was a bit steep.

Anylogic Pros and Cons

Pros
Once you understand how It works, the software can be very useful to simulate articulate processes over long periods of time.
So in my opinion, It Is a good tool for those people that Need to build or emulate detailed models.
Cons
Anylogic Is not very intuitive and some times understanding how a certain feature works might be very difficult also because of its connection with other elements.
Probably It might be helpful to have a Better explaination of each features to save user time.
