Relay MM doesn’t take a second member of tech staff to work. It’s a reliable product and Lightspeed takes good care of updating it through all the crazy updates different companies put out whether on computer or iPad. I have been with lightspeed since mobile manager first dropped and this product has came a long way. I’m a lightspeed user for life their customer service is second to none!
Pros
It syncs with google nightly, lists are easy to manage, apps are easy to manage, policies are straightforward. Customer service is hands down the best!!
Cons
I wish all the bells and whistles for chrome were available for iPad. I wish most pages had a select feature, where I could choose more than one to complete the same process for. Especially helpful when revoking app licenses or updating apps

Meh.....just "meh." That is all

Pros
Lightspeed has gotten into an area that's dominated by many other players - JAMF, Filewave, among others. MDM is a very difficult area and Lightspeed's implementation of MDM is just sort of, well, "meh."
Cons
A little un-intuitive as well as not as feature-rich as I would like.

Relay Mobile Manager

Relay Mobile Manager was once a very good tool for managing iOS devices in a very efficient manner. With the introduction of Relay, the UI has become very clunky. It has added multiple clicks to each action I take daily in the MDM. It is still an effective tool for managing iOS devices, but it is harder to do so.
Pros
Mobile Manager excels at managing iOS devices in an educational setting. Their focus on schools has given them an edge over the years.
Cons
The software has become bloated with different products all combined into one interface. Managing our iOS devices is tied into the web filter for our macOS devices, and that makes it very un-intuitive.

Overall a very solid MDM product. Hits all of the checkmarks, but if it had a bit better UI, I would be even more happy with it.
Pros
Ease of use and install are great. Very full featured and if you buy in to the Lightspeed ecosystem, there are many integrations that make it well worth the price.
Cons
I still am not a big fan of the UI of the software. Would like to see something a bit more intuitive and more customization options for how

I did not like relay. I also wanted to add the Classroom component and did not get any feedback to options for cost. I contacted Lightspeed several time trying to talk with someone and had a call and waited on cost solutions. No luck.
Pros
I love the option to one platform. Relay was so exciting. Set everything up and worked it for a while. Then the platform synced MDM and RElay to one solution and life went down from there.
Cons
When relay was released it messed up my MDM and compiled all my devices in both platforms MDM (ipads) and chromebooks. I contacted support and they said that I would have to delete them one by one or export the list and then reimport. They did not offer to assist further.
It was a mess.

Can easily manage our iPads and other devices that are used by multiple users.
Pros
We have many iPads in our school district, and we have always struggled with managing them with many users. Mobile manager lets us install apps, set policies, and keep better track of all of our iPads.
Cons
Sometimes actions like resetting or deleting apps doesn't work, we usually just do this from the device though.
Response from Lightspeed Systems

Been very effective. Students activity reports quickly to the correct team members.
Pros
Very easy to implement. It is very powerful. Reports bad behavior.
Cons
It's not free. I have used Lightspeed server, that was cost effective but this being cloud based made things easier on our team.

I have used Mobile Manager for several years and it really has come a long way. It was already a great replacement MDM for a not-so-great one we had at the time, and it has proved to be as feature-rich as other pricier options but extremely easy to use.
Pros
Integration with our current Lightspeed Rocket/Relay systems was simple, and deployment via DEP option is great. The UI for pushing apps and services is more straightforward than other solutions, like JAMF.
Cons
Would like to see more bulk actions integrated, such as removing/de-provisioning multiple devices.

Easy management of iPads, ability to push apps out to locked-down iPads.
Pros
Some of our programs require a unique set of apps, and we don't want students to be able to install apps on their own. Mobile Manager allows us to push the apps we need to groups of iPads, without the need to touch each one.
Cons
The software can sometimes take time to sync, although this is most likely a limitation of the apple deployment site.
