MS SharePoint Often Gets a Bad Rap

Overall, I have solved more common business problems with SharePoint than with any other tool.
Pros
I hear lots of people groan about SharePoint, yet I find over and over that it makes it incredibly easy to put together useful tools, collaborate, integrate, automate, and all at a very reasonable cost. Being tightly integrated with M365, it just makes sense to take advantage of all it has to offer.
Cons
I will admit, sometimes the customization limits can be annoying, but this is far outweighed by the usefulness of the platform. It also ensures fewer things break as new updates are pushed.

Cons
I don't like that I have to page through my document libraries instead of being able to jump forward or backwards. For example, it would be good to jump to the documents by the first letter of the document's name.

Globally, SharePoint is the best document management tool, collaboration tool and internal communication tool on the market.
Pros
The lists, librairies and metadatas are the great features of SharePoint. Also the front end tool Microsoft Teams renders the collaboration on projects even better.
Cons
The ability to break the security heritage of folder is one of the worst feature now that metadatas are available to manage per type security. Also the desktop synchronization using Microsoft OneDrive creates all sorts of problem and should not be used.

Google WorkspaceReasons for Switching to Microsoft SharePoint
iCloud can only collaborate with other iCloud users. It doesn't offer any equivalent to SharePoint. iCloud doesn't have the ability to create lists to collect data, doesn't have metadatas to organize and secure content. We use this as the backbone for our intranet and I am gradually coming to appreciate its power.
Pros
SharePoint integrates well with the rest of the Microsoft stack and gives us reasonable assurance of security and redundancy. The list-first method of file management is useful, and I like the modern Lists experience. Teams integration is strong.
Cons
SharePoint isn't as flexible in its sharing approach--perhaps this is the price to pay for security. For instance, a file or List stored on SharePoint cannot be shared via link without requiring sign-in. In numerous other ways, SharePoint sites are dated and limited.

The software has a user-friendly interface and intuitive features that make it easy to navigate and perform tasks.
Pros
The software has helped me a lot in sharing important documents and submissions easily and can be accessed easily by the end party. Overall, the software is well balanced, and it has great features.
Cons
The software is excellent and meets most of my needs, but it could improve on some aspects, such as:
The modified folder doesn't have any choices to save my previous settings for each folder.
Another con is that if I open the notebook, there is no option to go back directly to the SharePoint interface. You need to go back to App Launcher and open from there, where it is very inconvenient if you are in a hurry to do things quickly.

Great Product for Data Storage and Sharing

Overall it’s a good experience and I usually recommend it.
Pros
I like you can have a lot of control over external sharing and guess access. You can assign groups permissions to manage access so much easier. It works with OneDrive which is a nice integration.
Cons
You can sync folders to File Explorer in Windows operating systems, but it doesn’t always work that well. Online use is usually the best, especially when more than one user is editing the same document at once. We have experienced an issue where we have to completely gut a guest user out of SharePoint and Azure/Entra, then invite them again and grant the access again just because they randomly get denied access to the data that they were already granted access to. Last I checked, this was still not fixed.

SharePoint has been a great program for our organization, and we look forward to continue using it in our organization.
Pros
We have used Microsoft SharePoint within our organization for the last 2-3 years. We have implemented SharePoint as our company's insite/intranet site. SharePoint is very user-friendly and does not require additional setup.
Cons
Since SharePoint is very costly, we wish there could be a free solution to this. We also wish that SharePoint can connect to our domains directly in case we needed to setup a page for staff or a public page for customers.
