Incredible tool to include in UX process

Excellent. Much more visual than other solutions. Easy to use
Pros
The best part of this software is the ability to do information architecture. This was a big hurdle I had with clients and previously was having to go from slick plan to keynote to do sitemapping then IA. Now everything is in one place. Love that you can select block styles and colours as makes it easier to categories types of content (i.e. product purchase, social proof, content/narrative) which allows for better IA strategy.
Ability to add notes to content blocks is incredibly helpful
Cons
-Not being able to collapse stems of mapping. This makes it more difficult to navigate when there are some more extensive stems, or to focus the clients' attention on one level at a time.
-Not being able to move levels of nav once they've been built. You seem to be able to add additional navigations at the bottom, but then you can't move them up in the page after. This means if you build the wrong one out first, then you would have to entirely delete and rebuild.
-Not being able to then turn the pages and IA into user journeys. That would be a game changer.
-Not being able to identify 'page types'. Often for the sake of developers I need to build out a whole sitemap and then tell them through labelling, which page is assigned to which page type. Labelling or a key for page colours would help

I am in the process of creating my portfolio's website structure. Octopus.do is very useful for this purpose and saves me time and visualise my website vision in a simple and readable way.
Pros
Octopus.do got a simple and user-friendly interface. I think it's got all the necessary tools as well. I can create site maps easily and intuitively manage structures. I appreciate that I can add notes and comments very fast in a short time. I also really appreciate the visual interface and graphics - it's modern, minimalistic and playful at the same time. I like the drag and drop feature most of all. Various export options are useful in order to prepare materials for printing or sharing.
Cons
I spent some time figuring out how to use symbols (it was not so obviously). I would add an option of partial hiding of the page. The free version of the app is quite limiting .

Octopus makes mapping a sites page structure and content hierarchy so much easier by combining multiple mapping methods into one tool. We're able to quickly and efficiently plan for the next stage of our design process allowing us more time to spend on the design of the UI and testing.
Octopus has become an integral part of our design process. The way we use it has helped to improve how our different teams communicate and understand a project as we are planning our strategy.
Pros
The ease of use makes learning and using the tool very easy to pick up for new comers.
Content blocks marked as symbols allow for editing multiple blocks at the same time.
Shareable links with restricted access to allow clients to review the work.
Cons
The export options are limiting, when you have a particularly large map you are restricted to only being able to export it at an A4 or A3 size. Likewise with a PNG, the large the map the lesser the quality of the export. However , it is rare that we need to do this.
