About Wondering

Wondering is the AI-first user insights platform helping companies grow their revenue and reduce development costs through AI-led user research. Some of the world's best product and UX teams at companies like Gousto, Cazoo, and Butternut Box use Wondering’s AI-led user interviews, design testing and analysis to get closer to their customers, test their assumptions and build better product experiences

The platform automates study creation, integrating methodologies like in-depth interviews, concept tests, and surveys. Studies can be deployed in-product or to Wondering's global panel of 120,000+ participants. AI analysis swiftly transforms data into actionable insights, identifying themes and product opportunities in real-time.

Our customers rely on our AI-first user interviews and design tests to get actionable user insights 16x faster than traditional human-led user research methods.

Key benefits of Wondering

Test product hypotheses and make informed decisions 16X faster. The product teams at Butternut Box and Katkin have shortened their time-to-insight, enabling them to continuously test their product assumptions and iterate on designs with their customers.

Our customers say it best. Matilde Canuti, Senior Product Designer at Katkin, explains how Wondering’s AI-led user interviews and design testing has helped them make product decisions faster:

"With traditional user interviews it would take weeks to set up and complete interviews, but with Wondering, I can launch an AI-led study on a Friday evening and have results by Monday morning," Matilde says. "We completed a full research project in just 3 days with detailed interviews with more than 30 users, which would have taken weeks to complete previously."

“As the AI is trained to ask intelligent interview-style follow-up questions, the depth and richness of the insights we get are not compromised compared to a traditional user interview. The AI-led interviews are able to stay on topic, remain professional and even express empathy throughout the interaction with the user, which is important when speaking to people about subjects close to their hearts, such as their pets.” Mathilde continues.

"Shortening the time it takes us to get insights also has helped stakeholder engagement with research, because it enables them to quickly get an understanding of user needs”.

“What we also like about Wondering,” Matilde added, “was the wide range of users we can speak to. We have access to Wondering’s global panel of 120,000 participants for discovery research to identify problems and validate concepts; we can also use their in-product studies to interview customers as they use our products, helping us get feedback on new designs and get insights about the product journeys they go through.”

Capture insights human researchers can't with scalable AI-led multilingual research. StreamElements uses Wondering to increase product adoption and scale their user insights. With Wondering they can:

- Efficiently target real customers in-product: StreamElements use Wondering’s in-product integration to send in-product research studies to targeted cohorts of customers in key product journeys based on the actions they take within their platform
- Uncover user needs and pain points continuously: With Wondering’s AI-powered platform, they are able to quickly interview real customers, enabling them to better understand user needs and pain points and address usability issues quickly.
- Scale research effortlessly: By conducting research with Wondering’s AI-powered platform, StreamElements scale their research program efficiently, without having to spend more time each week organizing and running research studies.‍

Build more customer-centric product teams: Wondering has made it easier than for the product team at StreamElements to continuously gather. This has enabled the product teams at StreamElements to continuously learn from customers and incorporate their feedback into the product development process.

Grow product adoption, conversion, and satisfaction rates. The product team at Gousto continuously grows their conversion rates with insights from Wondering. The insights they gather from real users with Wondering helps them:
Understand the core value drivers behind why their customers choose Gousto.

[sensitive content hidden] and the team are incredibly generous with their time and I really appreciate how open they have been with their timeline to release new features which support out capabilities to conduct research.

Pros

A few notable features that are intuitive and enjoyable to use: - Simple templates that customers can easily interact with and you get rapid results- Really like the cooling period so that customers don't get spammed (as we can have many teams work on different projects across our digital product)- Really easy to send incentives and thank you's to customers after they participate- The ability to connect to your calendar so interviews sync and don't create clashes - Customisation of booking screens so customers see a professional and branded consent form/scheduling screen and completion screen

Cons

User interviews if they join on mobile (no matter how much we request they join on a laptop) can sometimes be fiddly if we are asking participants to interact with a prototype. This however is not unique to Ribbon but it's a case that can always be improved.

A game changing research tool

The Ribbon team have been super responsive to our questions, feedback and requests that it has sped up our processes so that we can get confidence in particular decisions. It has also been a genuine pleasure to work with them! I'm looking forward to seeing what features they release next that can help accelerate us in our discovery processes.

Pros

We used to manually find customers to interview or test designs with, so it could take weeks to get results. With Ribbon we can now interview our customers and validate designs within a day.

Cons

When we first started using Ribbon it was still a fairly new product compared to its competitors so it lacked some of the features we needed as a business such as surveys, unmoderated research but it has come a long way since then and the team have been great in prioritising what we needed.

Reasons for Switching to Wondering

The value for money, speed and potential of the tool. I have no doubt that it will surpass its competitors in the next year if they continue at the speed they're at in releasing valuable features for their customers.

Great tool for lean design teams!

Reviewed on 03/05/2024

Pros

The team at Wondering have a really user-first approach and themselves ran a lot of research involving me and asking about my needs as a designer when it comes to running research. They took in that feedback and input and came up with game-changing features which really empowered me doing my job effectively and efficiently. The AI assistant allowed me to get 30+ generative user interviews done over the weekend. I just launched it on Friday and came back on Monday to a wealth of valuable insights to get stuck in. The ability to target your customers right as they use your product is really helpful.

Cons

When I first used the survey study tool, I thought it could use some improvements, but again the team was incredibly responsive and proactively reached out to get my feedback.

Combines the best of unmoderated & moderated research!

Wondering is an indispensable tool in my organisation and has allowed us to move fast, by testing and iterating on designs several times in a matter of days.

To be honest, I used to dread user research as I wasn't sure how to best structure my research questions and turn them into guided, non-leading tasks. However, Wondering has taken out the pain point of this process by helping to generate well-structured and elaborate studies, even if I use a simple prompt. It's also intelligent enough to ask relevant follow-up questions, which is immensely helpful and combines the best of both worlds - the flexibility of unmoderated research with the thoroughness of moderated research.

Special thanks also to the Wondering team for being very quick to answer any questions I might have about the tool or how to structure a study - it's made a real difference in how effectively I now use Wondering to run my studies.

Pros

Straightforward and intuitive to use, thanks to the thoughtful user experience design that goes into the product. I like not having to start on a blank slate - I can just type in a research question or prompt, and Wondering does the hard work of structuring my study and giving me something to work with, which is a lot easier than coming up with a research plan and questions from scratch.

I also hugely appreciate the fast response times from the support team - they're always on hand to help with any questions about setting up my study, and are open to feedback.

Cons

It's a fairly new tool, so some features are still being built and refined - interactive prototype testing, for example, was only recently launched. It works well for my needs at the minute but I'm looking forward to further improvements.
