[sensitive content hidden] and the team are incredibly generous with their time and I really appreciate how open they have been with their timeline to release new features which support out capabilities to conduct research.
Pros
A few notable features that are intuitive and enjoyable to use: - Simple templates that customers can easily interact with and you get rapid results- Really like the cooling period so that customers don't get spammed (as we can have many teams work on different projects across our digital product)- Really easy to send incentives and thank you's to customers after they participate- The ability to connect to your calendar so interviews sync and don't create clashes - Customisation of booking screens so customers see a professional and branded consent form/scheduling screen and completion screen
Cons
User interviews if they join on mobile (no matter how much we request they join on a laptop) can sometimes be fiddly if we are asking participants to interact with a prototype. This however is not unique to Ribbon but it's a case that can always be improved.

A game changing research tool

The Ribbon team have been super responsive to our questions, feedback and requests that it has sped up our processes so that we can get confidence in particular decisions. It has also been a genuine pleasure to work with them! I'm looking forward to seeing what features they release next that can help accelerate us in our discovery processes.
Pros
We used to manually find customers to interview or test designs with, so it could take weeks to get results. With Ribbon we can now interview our customers and validate designs within a day.
Cons
When we first started using Ribbon it was still a fairly new product compared to its competitors so it lacked some of the features we needed as a business such as surveys, unmoderated research but it has come a long way since then and the team have been great in prioritising what we needed.
Reasons for Switching to Wondering
The value for money, speed and potential of the tool. I have no doubt that it will surpass its competitors in the next year if they continue at the speed they're at in releasing valuable features for their customers.- Industry: Consumer Goods

Great tool for lean design teams!
Reviewed on 03/05/2024
Pros
The team at Wondering have a really user-first approach and themselves ran a lot of research involving me and asking about my needs as a designer when it comes to running research. They took in that feedback and input and came up with game-changing features which really empowered me doing my job effectively and efficiently. The AI assistant allowed me to get 30+ generative user interviews done over the weekend. I just launched it on Friday and came back on Monday to a wealth of valuable insights to get stuck in. The ability to target your customers right as they use your product is really helpful.
Cons
When I first used the survey study tool, I thought it could use some improvements, but again the team was incredibly responsive and proactively reached out to get my feedback.

Combines the best of unmoderated & moderated research!

Wondering is an indispensable tool in my organisation and has allowed us to move fast, by testing and iterating on designs several times in a matter of days.
To be honest, I used to dread user research as I wasn't sure how to best structure my research questions and turn them into guided, non-leading tasks. However, Wondering has taken out the pain point of this process by helping to generate well-structured and elaborate studies, even if I use a simple prompt. It's also intelligent enough to ask relevant follow-up questions, which is immensely helpful and combines the best of both worlds - the flexibility of unmoderated research with the thoroughness of moderated research.
Special thanks also to the Wondering team for being very quick to answer any questions I might have about the tool or how to structure a study - it's made a real difference in how effectively I now use Wondering to run my studies.
Pros
Straightforward and intuitive to use, thanks to the thoughtful user experience design that goes into the product. I like not having to start on a blank slate - I can just type in a research question or prompt, and Wondering does the hard work of structuring my study and giving me something to work with, which is a lot easier than coming up with a research plan and questions from scratch.
I also hugely appreciate the fast response times from the support team - they're always on hand to help with any questions about setting up my study, and are open to feedback.
Cons
It's a fairly new tool, so some features are still being built and refined - interactive prototype testing, for example, was only recently launched. It works well for my needs at the minute but I'm looking forward to further improvements.

Removing the lead time in finding immersed users

People we used to speak to often didn't have intent to use our product. With Ribbon we don’t need to immerse participants into a mock scenario. Instead, we can focus on just speaking with our customers. It also really reduces the lead time and cost of recruitment. At my previous workplace, we were paying upwards of £100 to recruitment each participant. Using Ribbon massively reduces that cost, meaning we can do research more regularly and efficiently too.
Pros
Ribbon have created a product that is ever-evolving. For example, not long ago they launched interview scheduling meaning you can automatically have your calendar filled with interviews with a few clicks. It's really easy to use, making it quick to dive right in to user research and speak with your customers.
Cons
As with any startup, prioritisation is key and features are being developed. I look forward to them launching additional features, for example, better video editing so I can easily extract and share key insights with the rest of my team.

Ribbon is made for rapid user research insights
Reviewed on 02/03/2023
Pros
Ribbon enables you to gather research insights quickly and almost instantaneously by integrating directly with your website or app. It's an easy-to-use platform and helps enable people who do research to gain insights faster.
Cons
I think the surveys are extremely basic and could be enhanced further. I'd also like to see a way to generate a transcript from the recorded research sessions.

The software is stable. The support is very responsive, and the product team has been very helpful in delivering required functionality
Pros
Ribbon unblocks the common belief that it's difficult and takes a lot of time to get direct user feedback from interviews. You can get the data and understand "what happened" but without talking to users, you don't know the "whys." Ribbon is your easy gate to get answers for that and help you solve real problems for your users in a way they will use it.
Cons
Not all of the use cases are covered. Some features are coming up as we go (and ask for). Ribbon has been proactive in listening to our feedback and improving its offering. For some users (like us) this is a very big plus and was a major reason why we chose them.

Cost-efficient and more versatile than most competitors. Excited about its future!
Reviewed on 07/02/2023
Pros
The ability to heavily customise the styling and position of the widgets for in-product interviews and surveys. Other tools we had tried in the past had rigid settings and customer facing interface elements that were too intrusive, obstructing key parts of the experience. That was one of the key reasons we moved to Ribbon.
Cons
Even though "In-product" interviews are useful there's a significant delay when waiting for participants. It can take up to 30 minutes to find one. It would be helpful to develop features for mitigating this issue.

Really great. Helps us get instant insights from actual users.
Pros
Wow.I never expected it to be so easy to recruit segments actual users and customers for in-depth interviews.
Cons
I know their unmoderated recruiting is in Beta and I am very much looking forward to that. Same with transcription. I don't use transcription but look forward to seeing what they bring.
