Branch has helped us elevate our marketing strategies, as it helps in accurate conversion tracking and shows a clear picture of ROI driven by each channel and their respective campaigns.

Pros

Branch has a simple and non-complex user interface, and their recently updated UX is even better.Features are self-explanatory and no learning curve is needed to get started with the platform.Great too for app attribution, campaign, cohort, and segment analysis. The creation and analysis of deeplinks is also supported. We have integrated all our social media accounts and ad accounts with Branch and the process of sending postbacks to and fro is also simple.Overall satisfaction with Branch, I would say.

Cons

Few features are lacking like uninstall tracking and cost data in INR, apart from that no issues as such.

Hands-down the best all-around mobile attribution / deep linking platform

Reviewed on 02/05/2019

We utilize Branch.io for all our cross-platform universal deep linking, getting users from web to app (web-to-app feature), showing relevant content for shared links (deepview app previews), journey banners, email provider (SendGrid), data exports via webhook to CRM, and attribution for all paid media links. Branch.io is used across our entire organization. Our sales team sends referral links to influencers and customers. Our product development team uses Branch links for deep linking to content inside the app, and our marketing team uses the links on all marketing channels from paid media to push, email, and organic media. At the core Branch.io addresses universal linking problems and mobile app attribution problems - being able to tell which actions were taken from each links, no matter the device the user uses.

Pros

Extremely affordable/flexible pricing, we don't have a ton of MAU, but our clients are HNWI, that make a higher dollar amount purchases. To-date we haven't paid any money for Branch's services, but as we gain more users it'll be a no-brainer to pay for the low cost it will be to us.

Their attribution analytics are better than Appsflyer. Having been a previous Appsflyer user, we had found multiple data errors in fraud detection and improver attribution. This has not been the case with Branch, they have been accurately reporting all our channels and links, even with our users that use both web and app.

Branch.io's technical support is second to none. I've been amazed at the timeliness of their responses, along with the technical ability of their support, and easily breaking down their answers into layman's terms for my somewhat technical self. They reply within 24 hours and have always been able to help me solve my problem within one reply.

Cons

Not like it's a con, but it would be great for Branch to keep running totals on attrition rate and daily active users. Also maybe look into more integrations with data export partners - Appsee, Smartlook, etc.

To my understanding Branch uses a last touch attribution method. Being able to change this setting or view the data between different attribution models would be extremely useful (first click, linear, time decay, etc).

Firebase and AppsFlyer

Reasons for Switching to Branch Metrics

We used to use AppsFlyer but unfortunately, we found errors in their mobile app attribution reporting. Firebase on the other hand, is a basic tool that has a lot of features, but the features are not extremely robust - especially the attribution or funnel reporting. As a result, we decided to give Branch and have been extremely pleased since.

Pricing Past 200k MAU is Terrible

Was useful as a deferred deep link product under original pricing under 200k MAU. Not sustainable when prices jump up to 10x - 20x as you grow your app.

Pros

Deferred deep links were easy enough to implement and work decently. Branch is facing uphill battle with Apple's App Privacy initiative and value is going down.

Cons

Very dependent on grabbing advertising identifiers, so if you don't want to prompt users for permission to track, this solution may not be one you want to integrate. They have ways to disable that usage, but it's clear they put their tooling more on the idea you'll let them track from within your app.Pricing though is the largest con. While the pricing when your app is small is maintainable, once you get past 200k MAU, their pricing sharply increases even when your usage of their system does not. They claim this is because they're adding value that drives your app's growth. Personal experience has shown we got little growth from them yet they demand a king's ransom once you're in "big fish" territory and they're determining how many users your app has due to you embedding their SDK in your binary and charging you more due to that.If you're going to add this in your system, have a plan for how you'll rip it out if your usage isn't worthwhile as their pricing will jump up as you gain more app users regardless if you stop using their link creation.

We've used branch for over 6 years as a crucial attribution tool to ensure we are on top of our mobile marketing funnel.

Pros

The most powerful thing for us with Branch is the attribution for our mobile marketing for a consumer app. Reporting and analytics is excellent and a tool we've relied on for many years to understand our traffic sources, the ROI of those sources and where we can optimise.

Cons

Branch has a feature limitation around changing links once they've been created which prompted us to include Rebrandly as an alternative. We couldn't change the link to redirect from an in-app experience to a web experience which was a big limitation for our business.

I'm a great fan of this. Before going with branch.io we used universal links provided by Apple and android but when a user taps on android link while using an iPhone it doesn't actually work. But branch.io made it very simple.

Pros

I have implemented this in our latest apps that we build. It's just awesome the way it give us flexibility to choose the custom domain other than what they provide us. I also once encountered an issue then contacted support team. To my shock they were very friendly and keen to resolve each issue when developer raises. More than anything it gives us short links, where we can send parameters to branch.io and retrieve params while link is tapped. This helps us to be safe from fake links created.

Cons

I wonder are there any cons...I can say initially we had an option to play till one month before adding credit card though they won't cut any. But this make a thought to think do we really need to continue with branch.io even before playing with it for a while.

Branch - A great tool for universal Links

Tracking a referrer via the referral link is one of the main business problems I'm currently trying to tackle. One can find an individual referrer as well as the referred user count. It is highly helpful for tracking and measuring the effectiveness of one's campaigns.

Pros

It provides a good number of features to aid marketing, tracking and reviewing important business data. T free SMS for download is one of the highlights and is commendable on Branch's part to foot the bill, so to speak. The separate "Testing" and "Live" options are a real boon to Branch's partners. Creating a new link is super easy the Link Settings page is very easy to configure for iOS or Android or Desktop implementation.

Referrals by Branch is another nice feature where one can see the influencers' as well as the referred user's count. Cross-channel analytics is very useful for tracking campaigns.

All in all, a brilliant experience with great results to be yielded by an implementer of Branch's resources.

Cons

There are a lot of conversions that can often time be difficult for newcomers to implement correctly. UserID, BranchID and similar attributes can sometimes lead to ambiguity in understanding.

I have had a great experience so far, the features are well put out. We use these to better optimise our campaigns and make them deliver high quality results. It helps us understand the ROI of different channels. Partner/Affiliate integration and analytics is easy, it also supports the creation of deep links in bulk and their analysis helps us stay focused on high quality partners.

Pros

The tool is convenient in usage and does not have a steep learning curve. User Interface is simple and stays focused on the important features that are required. Navigation across buttons is easy and there are hardly any downtimes. We essentially use the dashboards on Branch to get a clear understanding of different channels and their driven conversions.

Cons

With changing markets, Branch should introduce new features for example how to still use deep linking with the introduction of iOS14.

Getting users directly to the area they need to be at and reporting back to us what works well. Easy to setup and integrate allows us to use lots of external links to acquire users and send them directly to the point in the app we wish to. This has helped with acquisition and retention for users that may otherwise have churned since we were able to entice them back to the product with a deep link directly to an item of interest.

Pros

Supports a great number of different platforms on various architectures.
It is very easy to integrate and get everything up and running.
It is free to use so represents a significant saving on other solutions.
Support for the product is excellent and there is a large friendly community of users
They have lots of great ideas for improving acquisition and retention and regularly provide links to helpful articles and case studies to assist in improving our apps.
They have a very accessible and knowledgeable support team who go above and beyond to help.

Cons

Nothing so far, seems to have done everything we have needed to. We will be looking at utilising more features in future products. The dashboard needed some work but the new one is being released very soon and can already be used by following a link which improves things no end.

Quicklinks/deeplinks!

Pros

Branch quicklinks are technology we've come to rely on - when we want to do a promotion with a third party or be able to track where traffic is originating from, having quicklinks at our disposal is amazing. Also, since Branch quicklinks can deeplink into a mobile app, being able to directly open the app when you click on the link is an amazing tool.

Cons
