Overall, it's been a good tool to help with unmoderated testing and can help get people who aren't involved in the process more excited.

Pros

UsabilityHub makes unmoderated test pretty easy. It also lets you purchase credits to pay for tests. This can make things simple when you don't do a ton of unmoderated testing, but need to do some.

Cons

I don't have any huge cons. For the price, it's great. I wish they had some more features, but they add more all the time.

I've been using Lyssna (formerly Usability Hub) for over 2 years. I've consistently been impressed by the speed and quality of responses for the many many different varieties of tests I'm able to setup. The ability to launch and get results for preference tests, first-click tests, or simple design surveys by EOD has been amazing not only in assisting our design team, but it promoting buy-in for research in general.

Pros

Easy to use. Very fast - both in regards to study setup and results.

Cons

Lacks some of the deeper audience filters present in other survey platforms.

It is a quick and easy way to get some insight on web designs, but again not a make or break outcome.

Pros

I like how quick and accessible the tests are to set up. They give you 5 preset tests which is useful, especially for people who don't have much user testing experience.

Cons

The quality of participants is really not reliable and makest he over all outcome of the test questionable. Also they limit you to the 5 tests they provide with not much customization.

It's been my go-to tool for quick turn-around feedback from 'strangers'. I'm able to customise some general panel requirements.

Pros

How easy to use and the options available for different types of surveys and usability tests. Honestly it's one of the easiest tools out there and should be a must for any designer/researcher.

Cons

Credits can add up, but at least it gives you freedom without being constricted to a monthly plan. In the Demographics settings (customising panel recruiting), I wish there was an option of 'all BUT X' so I don't have to select/include several of a demographic's categories just so one is excluded.

Despite the minor drawbacks, Lyssna has proven to be a valuable tool for conducting user research. The platform's ability to support multiple test types, coupled with its user-friendly features and time-saving capabilities, make it a strong choice for researchers.

Pros

I like the diverse test types, including one-click tests, preference tests, and tree tests, which gives flexibility for different research needs.
I like how the templates accelerate the test creation process.
Access to a general audience pool with various filters (tech-savviness, device, industry) enables quick and efficient testing.
The ability to embed test links into CRM tools simplifies user recruitment and management.

Cons

Setting up prototype tests can be somewhat hard when it comes to Figma link acceptance.
The inability to conduct tests directly on live products can limit the realism of the testing experience.

Lyssna has been incredibly responsive and iterative in their product. Every month there is a new feature, product improvement, or feedback taken from users. They are a UX company through and through.

Pros

Easy pay-as-you-go model, free version has a lot of capabilities for moderated testing, great templates for a variety of research methods

Cons

Build for prototype testing, not for live site testing, any unmoderated sessions are limited to ~2 minutes. Anything longer needs a paid subscription. Recording features and other necessary testing features are not implemented yet.

I work on interactive media products. We often use usabilityhub to evaluate early designs.

Pros

Ease of use is the main attraction for this tool. Quick feedback from other designers, potential users, or our pool of volunteers is really useful for our interactive designs. It's very easy to convince others a name isn't working by displaying a simple heat map, or showing a list of comments from decent samples of target users.

Cons

Some of the instructions to the test participants are unclear, especially when they need to interact with images. We tend to send instructions to supplement what's on the screen.
