Wonderful for Nonprofits

Pros
My favorite features are the fundraising and online auction. We recently used this feature for a fundraiser and had a lot of success.
Cons
The customer service response time is great, however, one of the chat representatives was not helpful and did not know how to fix an error I made. He took a very long time trying to find the answer and ultimately was unable to help. Thankfully another representative reached out and my problem was fixed immediately.

Wonderful. Despite the small bumps and lack of total functionality, I really appreciate the opportunity it gives to small organizations with extremely limited budgets.
Pros
I like that there isn't an annual fee, allowing our small nonprofit the ability to grow.
Cons
Givebutter is a bit clunky when it comes to its functionality. Don't get me wrong, it's a wonderful service for small organizations like ours, but there are some elements that don't always work smoothly. Additionally, there are some features I would love to have that GB doesn't offer, like grant management and a true ticketing platform with reserved seating and bulk ticket purchasing discounts. It that vein, it would be great if there was some thought put into how the platform works for performing arts organizations.

It was extremely easy to use, so we liked how our campaign was up and running quickly on our wix website.
Cons
I haven't delved into the auction section too deeply, but I know that we decided to use another free platform instead.

It was so easy to set up auction items.
Cons
it stopped reacting when everyone was checking out!
It also wouldn't let us assign live auction items to the winners nor would it let us add raise the paddle donors to the program to be charged!

The onboarding experience was good. You can figure out how to make it work for you in most circumstances. I think it has a lot of potential to grow and expand its functionality. I appreciate the roadmap and feedback model the company employs.
Pros
1) I like the embeddable forms and the ticketing.
2) The back-end admin experience is fairly clean and straightforward.
3) I love that it has card readers and tap to pay.
4) I like that it accepts digital wallets.
Cons
1) Creation of Forms: There's no differentiation between sales forms and donate forms, eg, if I have an event that is selling tickets, hosting an auction, and asking for donations, I can't choose to create a form for donations and a separate form for tickets, it's automatically a ticket form, with option to donate. I can't turn off the option to donate, and if I want to just ask for donations I need to create a new campaign. On a similar note, auctions don't have an embeddable form option.
2) Embedded Forms: Once they're embedded, they can be kind of laggy, at least on my squarespace site. The page will load, and then the form.
3) User Types: Not a whole lot of difference between admin and editor users. I wish there was some kind of volunteer user where you can control what campaigns they have access to and allows them to use the app and card reader.

Pros
Givebutter has made it so easy to create, edit, and share campaigns. The technology is so user-friendly, which makes engaging with diverse audiences a piece of cake. Requiring fees and giving donors so many payment-type options are small but extremely valuable features, saving and making us thousands of dollars with our first few events. Looking forward, I am excited to explore many more of the app integrations. I could go on and on...
Cons
I think some customization features (e.g. customized thank you emails for each "ticket type") are missing, which hinders my specific priorities; however, Givebutter's roadmap and ability to upvote features have been great ways to share my wants. Also, having to pay an additional fee to Zapier to connect to Salesforce is a big pain point for my leadership. Other platforms like Givebutter, though not at all on the Givebutter level, connect without an additional cost.

I love that the platform allows me to sell tickets, fundraise, and manage donors. My donors did not like the prompts to tip and pay fees. I ended up mostly turning those off to avoid complaints. Overall, it's a great platform!
Pros
That it is both a ticket sales and donor management platform.
Cons
I would like to see better development of the platform for donor management. It was not easy to see how to address a thank you letter to a household when entering new constituents. Maybe you have a recorded training about this that I could learn from. We have been using Little Green Light for donor management. They have more capacity for tracking and connecting constituents that I would like to see developed in GiveButter (or that I need to better understand in GibeButter).
Secondly, I was disappointed that there was not a clear way to mark ticket sales as separate from donations. I found that if I set a goal for fundraising, the ticket sales and donations both were counted towards the goal. However, the ticket sales were not a donation and should not have gone towards the goal. Because the platform did not allow me to separate them, I had to stop showing the fundraising goal bar.

Givebutter is very user friendly, but when we have needed support, the Givebutter customer service/technical support people are always very helpful and available.
Pros
I've had experience with different donor databases before, and Givebutter is BY far the best one I've worked with. First of all, you can't beat the price, but beyond that, their CMS speaks to different platforms, such as QuickBooks and other platforms we use.
Cons
We've been using Givebutter for nearly a year now and have no complaints.

Givebutter has made a huge difference or our nonprofit's events and fundraising campaigns capabilities. It has streamlined our efforts, made everything so easy for us and for our donors, and saved our staff so much time.
Pros
We rely strongly on Givebutter's functionality for our campaigns and events! It is so simple to set up fundraising campaigns and events and then track all activity in real-time. There are no fees to use it; they get tips from our donors and ticket purchasers. We use it for all our donations capabilities, including in-person and online events, ticketing, auctions, and fundraising campaigns. We are so thankful for the robust functionality it offers our nonprofit!
Cons
We honestly have had no issues with using this platform. Whatever information we need for reporting purposes is there, organized, and easy to find. We are huge fans!

Great. We don't have complex needs, and GB meets all the ones we do have. They also have good customer service as the few times I've reached out with questions, I've received prompt responses.
Pros
It's easy to use. I don't have a background in fundraising or CRMs, but after a few weeks of playing around (and reviewing their tutorials), managing my customers became straightforward. Also, the ability to have donors or customers cover costs is very helpful. Our last CRM had a monthly subscription cost that became a problem, especially during months we weren't much using it. Having the flexibility of patrons helping cover these costs makes our org that much more financially sustainable.
Cons
There's a default setting that enables the patrons to give tips to GB. Though the tips can be adjusted by percent, there's an initial sticker shock to the final cost of a donation or service that was off putting to our customers—many of whom were older and didn't realize that this tip feature was optional. We've since disabled this feature on all our campaigns, and then tip GB ourselves with our payouts, but there were a number of unpleasant emails from angry patrons initially.

Free for non profits. Had to send paperwork to prove our status, after that was easy

We run multiple fundraisers on same account, so the lists of names gets mixed.
When transfer to our bank account, would be nice to have a few words appear on transfer on bank statement. We have multiple fundraisers and they all transfer as “Givebutter”. If we could make it say “Givebutter basketball” or even a few letters so the person doing bank reconciliation knows which of the 5 Givebutter sub accounts the transfer came from.

We really like the event page options, and ease of use. And all the different ways to pay, plus text to donate, QR codes and more! And we have a free program. This is exceptional. People have liked donating on the platform.
Pros
Easy to use, lots of options to use it right away that are included in the free access to the program.
Cons
People doing events are having trouble seeing everything for their event, even though I have invited them to have access. The Givebutter card reader that I was sent last year, and software is really dependent on someone having Samsung or Apple phones, and the latest models, not other brands of android. This is a challenge.
I am not sure how to have matching donors, or recurrent donors.

Givebutter is a user-friendly platform with excellent customer service and fantastic features and bonuses. I am so glad we are switching to them, and I would not want to go to any other platform.
Pros
I love how easy and intuitive it is to use, how responsive the employees are when you need help, and how you can keep just about everything in one place. They also have a system of voting for new features that you want to be included in the next update, which I love.
Cons
The only thing we have a hard time with is business contacts. They want us to put first name, last name rather than the name of the business. However, I believe this is something they are working on.

We've had a fantastic experience with Givebutter. Other companies have approached us, and I have sat through their demos. Afterward, I always leave feeling that we made the right choice with Givebutter.
Pros
Givebutter is an incredibly easy to use platform that allows us to track donations, start fundraising campaigns, act as a CRM, and reach out to donors. There are webinars that Givebutter hosts to allow you to learn more of their features and benefits. It was also easy to integrate into our website. It is basically everything that we could ask for in a donation platform.
Cons
It's really been so easy to use that I don't have any cons to write about.

Once you figure it out it is easy to set things up for campaigns. We have been able to save tremendoulsy in the fees.
Cons
It is harder to move around when your admin window is not at full size. I often like to have 2 windows share a screen when I am updating spreadsheets.
It would also be nice to be able to download campaign info via spreadsheet.

Last year, our organization used One Cause and it had faults but it offered more capabilities than Givebutter. In terms pf payments and transactions, Givebutter did not live up to my expectations.
Pros
It is easy to maneuver through the platform.
Cons
I do not like that Admins cannot add or edit payment information, I do not like that Admins cannot process partial refunds, I do not like the virtual auction sign up--it requires too many steps, and I do not like that an Admin cannot mark an auction item "Complete" if a person pays offline.

Our experience has been very positive. Our membership secretary was ready to resign when we were struggling with our former membership data base. Now she is staying on the board and in her position.
Pros
Givebutter is easy to use for untrained volunteers. There is lots of online and phone help, and it doesn't require special programming.
Cons
You have to turn off special requests for donations to Givebutter, and accept a different forumula that lets you pay a percent of the donation. But we don't object to this. We understand Givebutter has to make some money somehow.

Givebutter has made it easier to keep track of all our online donations in one place. The transfer funds feature is so easy, and the funds hit the account within a day or two.
Pros
I like that I can have Pay Pal and other donation platforms, all in one place. I like having the ability to pull reports when I need them. I also like the way we can create campaigns and keep track of how much we have raised at any point of the event
Cons
I really don't have anything bad to say about Givebutter. I really like the features

Not only is it incredibly user-friendly on our end, but more importantly, it's a breeze for our donors. I’ve had so many donors reach out to share how easy the donation process was for them, and they loved how simple it was to edit their gifts. GiveButter has truly transformed how we manage donations—making it smooth, seamless, and stress-free for everyone involved. 🥳
Pros
If you're looking for a fundraising platform that's user-friendly, even for those of us who aren't super tech-savvy, GiveButter is a fantastic choice! Setting up pages was a breeze, and I was pleasantly surprised by how intuitive the entire process was. Plus, the GiveButter support team is absolutely top-notch—responsive, helpful, and always there when you need them. GiveButter Bootcamp was amazing and changed the game for our Justice Day campaign. GiveButter was just the platform I was seeking to help grow our online annual fund campaign.
Cons
While GiveButter is generally user-friendly and intuitive, I have encountered some challenges with syncing donations through Zapier into Little Green Light. This particular aspect isn't as seamless as the rest of the platform, and I'm still struggling to figure this out.

Very positive! We were dreading finding out all the negatives after we implemented a new online system. However, there really haven't been any negatives, and our donors seem to like the platform, too!
Pros
It keeps everything nicely organized and you can find metrics and info you want very quickly and easily.
Cons
Once you set up a campaign is it pretty difficult to extend it or change the parameters of it, if you want to.

My overall experience with Givebutter has been fantastic. The platform is so easy to use – setting up my fundraiserers were a breeze. I love that it gives donors different ways to pay, and the customer service is really helpful. Thumbs up for Givebutter!

Givebutter is super easy to use, with lots of ways for people to pay. The customer service is awesome, and you can add money from offline sources easily. They even make it simple to print out records each year. Givebutter keeps getting better with new features.
Cons
As of now, there seem to be no significant cons to report. Givebutter continues to impress with its user-friendly approach and continuous addition of new features.
